Canada Just Announced It's Scrapping Its Entire Immigration System

If you've been planning to move to Canada through Express Entry, stop what you're doing and read this.

IRCC just proposed scrapping all three federal skilled immigration streams and replacing them with one single new class. The Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades programs as you know them could all be gone.

Nobody knows what the new requirements will look like yet. Public consultations are planned for Spring 2026 and no implementation date has been set.

Here is the most important thing you need to hear right now — the current rules still apply. If you are eligible today, apply today. In 2025 alone Canada issued nearly 118,000 invitations to apply through Express Entry. That door is still open, but nobody knows for how long.

This would be one of the most significant shifts in Canada's federal immigration framework since Express Entry launched in 2015. Do not wait and wonder. Move while you still know the rules of the game.

We will be watching this closely. Follow WADX so you don't miss what comes next.
